In today's society, we are all into our gadgets and electronic games but we mustn't forget to also unplug and rediscover the joy of play. With my experience as a parent and working with children, playing games with family and friends is great fun and important for building positive relationships. Games stretch a child's imagination and invite discovery, build creativity, teaches turn taking and builds social skills.
This Bellz game is small and compact and is perfect to take out to restaurants to play at the table and entertain kids whilst waiting for food to come and would also be great to take on long journeys.
The game was honoured in 2015 by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association, with a Best Toys for Kids Award. After playing this game with my children age 6 and 13 and also with the children I look after age 5,7 and 8 they have thoroughly enjoyed this simple game. I can understand why the game won awards, the game is easy but challenging, fun, extremely addictive, compact, sturdy and takes seconds to set up and put away. This game is one of those games that can be played over and over again as its not just about skill but also about luck.
Recommended age 6+
For 2-4 players
The object of the game.
To collect all 10 bells of one colour.
How to play!
The pouch opens to become the game arena and all the bells are placed mixed up inside.
Choose a player to go first.
Each player must use the magnet wand to pick up bells of only one colour. Players are free to choose any colour of bell providing none of the other players has already claimed the colour.
The magnetic wand is powerful, one end is larger and stronger and one end is weaker. Each turn you must choose which end of the wand to use, you can't switch ends during your turn.
Make a string off the end of the magnet wand, pick up only one or create a cluster. Make sure you don't pick up bells of any other colour or your turn is over and you must place all the bells you have collected back into the arena.
Each player must decide how far to push their luck at every turn.
The winner is the first to collect all 10 bells of their chosen colour.
When playing with younger children to make the game shorter don't place the bells back into the arena when you pick up other colours, just miss a turn instead.
